1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how BuzzForUs collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you use the BuzzForUs app, website, account features, event pages, event submission tools, reviews, photos, and related services.
2. Information You Provide
We may collect information you provide directly, including:
- email address;
- ZIP code or city preferences;
- 18+ affirmation;
- profile interests and categories;
- event submissions;
- reviews, comments, reports, and uploaded photos;
- support, legal, privacy, copyright, and removal requests.
3. Account and Sign-In Information
We use supported authentication providers, including AWS Cognito and third-party sign-in providers where enabled. Authentication providers may process sign-in information under their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Location Information
The app may request device location permission while the app is in use to show nearby events. You may also use ZIP code or city-based location features.
We use location-related information to provide nearby-event search and local-event discovery. We do not use precise location for behavioral advertising. We do not maintain a precise location-history feature.
Website users may provide a ZIP code or city. If browser geolocation or IP-based local-event features are used, we will request consent where required or appropriate.
5. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we may automatically receive technical information such as:
- IP address;
- device type;
- browser type;
- operating system;
- app version;
- request time;
- pages or API endpoints accessed;
- general region or city derived from network information;
- security, error, diagnostic, and performance logs.
We do not intentionally log OTP codes, authentication tokens, precise GPS coordinates, uploaded content bodies, or sensitive request bodies.
6. Analytics
We may use server-side analytics, logs, cloud monitoring, aggregate reporting, and privacy-conscious analytics tools to understand general usage, event popularity, geographic interest, system performance, and abuse patterns.
At launch, BFU intends to rely primarily on server-side logging and aggregate analytics rather than behavioral advertising analytics.
If we enable Google Analytics 4 or similar analytics tools, we will disclose that use in this policy. We do not plan to use advertising personalization, remarketing, or cross-context behavioral advertising at launch.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The website may use essential cookies or similar technologies for sessions, security, load balancing, or login-related functions where applicable.
We do not plan to use non-essential advertising cookies at launch. If we later use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, preference cookies, or similar technologies, we will update our Cookie and Tracking Notice.
8. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide and operate the Service;
- create and manage accounts;
- show nearby events;
- save user preferences and profile settings;
- process event submissions;
- publish, moderate, hide, or remove reviews and photos;
- process user reports and removal requests;
- send transactional notices where enabled;
- protect users, BFU, and the public;
- detect spam, fraud, scraping, abuse, malware, and security risks;
- debug, monitor, and improve the Service;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
9. Notifications
At launch, saved-event reminders are expected to be local/on-device notifications. BFU does not plan to store backend push tokens at launch.
If server-side push notifications, approval/rejection notices, cancellation notices, or other notification categories are enabled later, we will update disclosures as needed.
10. User Content and Moderation
Reviews, photos, event submissions, reports, and other content may be reviewed by automated tools, AI moderation providers, malware scanning tools, manual reviewers, and admins.
Moderation providers may process content you submit to help detect prohibited, unsafe, unlawful, infringing, or abusive material.
11. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery, storage, analytics, monitoring, maps, moderation, malware scanning, and security providers.
We may share information when required by law, legal process, law enforcement, government requests, rights enforcement, safety needs, fraud prevention, or business transfers.
We do not sell personal information. We do not plan to share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising at launch.
12. Third-Party Services
The Service may use or link to third-party services such as AWS, Google, Apple, OpenAI, Yelp, map providers, source websites, event websites, and ticketing websites. Third-party services may collect or process information under their own policies.
13. Data Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
- Account email, current ZIP codes, and current interests are generally kept until account deletion or profile change.
- Precise GPS is not stored as a location-history feature.
- Server, application, CloudWatch, ALB, CloudFront, and security logs are generally retained for 30 to 90 days, unless needed longer for security, abuse, legal, or operational reasons.
- Aggregated analytics may be retained longer when they do not identify individual users.
- Deleted reviews, deleted photos, and rejected events are removed from active public systems after final deletion, except limited metadata may be kept for moderation, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or dispute defense.
- Backups may retain deleted data for a limited time before ordinary rotation or deletion.
- DMCA, legal, privacy, safety, fraud, and law enforcement records may be retained as reasonably necessary.
14. Account Deletion and Privacy Requests
You may delete your account through the app where available. You may also contact admin@buzzforus.com for privacy requests.
After account deletion, we will delete or de-identify active account information unless retention is required or permitted for legal, security, fraud, backup, dispute, or enforcement purposes.
15. Children and Minors
BFU is not directed to children. Users must be at least 18 to create an account or use account features. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to create accounts.
16. California Privacy Notice
California residents may contact us at admin@buzzforus.com with privacy questions or requests. If BFU becomes subject to additional California privacy-law requirements, we will update this policy and provide required rights and disclosures.
17. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No system is completely secure. You use the Service at your own risk.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
